Job Title:  Senior Electonics Engineer

Muara Maritime Services Sdn Bhd (“MMS”) is a joint venture company responsible for providing maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MRO) to Royal Brunei Navy (“RBN”) vessels and dockyard infrastructure. We are looking for highly motivated and suitably qualified Bruneian professionals to fill the following positions:

Job Summary

The Senior Electronics Engineer will be involved in the upgrades and modifications of electronics systems on the Royal Brunei Navy vessels. This role requires a strong knowledge in electronics such as navigation, communication, radar or weapons systems in a naval environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating system issues, conducting tests and evaluations and developing solutions to ensure compatibility and performance. This role requires proficiency in system analysis, specification and requirement to ensure the successful planning and execution of engineering projects.

 

The Senior Electronics Engineer will provide expert guidance on the selection and integration of onboard electronics systems by understanding the ship’s or the systems' concepts of operation, ensuring that the mission profile is achieved within the specified operational environment. He or she is expected to understand and define interface requirements between components of complex systems such as Combat Management System, Integrated Communication Systems and/or Navigation Systems. This includes analyzing legacy systems to ensure seamless integration and functionality across hardware-software boundaries.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  1. Analyze existing systems to identify performance issues or upgrade opportunities.
  2. Utilize engineering principles to perform investigation and analysis and to develop technical solutions and proposals.
  3. Develop test plans to assess system and record measurements and to evaluate function and performance.
  4. Prepare technical requirements and specifications for the design of the system.
  5. Prepare and review engineering documentation, including technical reports, test protocols, and system specifications.
  6. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirement

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 8 years’ experience with navigation, communications, radar or weapon systems and their interfaces.
  3. Experience in marine electronics, embedded systems or similar field
  4. Experience in maintenance, repair or upgrade
  5. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
  6. Must be Brunei Citizen or Permanent Resident

 

Competency/Skills

  1. Strong proficiency in technical English, written and spoken
  2. Proven experience in leading projects
  3. Effective team player with strong problem-solving and communications skills
  4. Adaptable, solution focused and highly motivated
  5. Strong proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools
  6. Good proficiency in MS Office software or similar
