Job Title:  Senior Neuropsychologist

Job Summary

The Senior Neuropsychologist will serve as the primary expert for neuropsychological disorders and treatments, providing key insights and recommendations to support diagnosis, treatment and patient care. They will also need to oversee and provide clinical supervision for all psychologists and other clinical staff of the unit, by ensuring adherence to high standards of practice and comprehensive patient care.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessment to identify cognitive deficits, psychological effects of various neurological and mental disorders.
• Diagnose brain-based disorders based on assessment findings.
• Evaluate patient needs, recommend appropriate interventions and prepare rehabilitation plans. This includes monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatments as needed.
• Led and contributed to development and innovative practice in neuropsychology, such as psychology service, cross-programmatic, operational, inter-disciplinary at national health-service level.
• Organize and enhance existing neuropsychology services and programs.
• Responsible for professional and clinical supervision within area of responsibility and expertise to psychologist in the clinical programs, and within the department.
• Participate in research studies, collaborative research and evaluation projects to advance knowledge in the field.
• Develop systems for reviewing training needs and continuous training programs and other in-service training required by psychologists and other members of clinical teams.
• Supervise, train and mentor junior staff by assessing their competencies, building their professional development and updating their knowledge on areas of expertise.
• Attend and contribute to conferences, workshops, seminars and peer/support groups to enhance skills in area of expertise.

Professional Requirements

• A minimum of 8 to 10 years of clinical experience in Neuropsychology is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of postgraduate clinical training and experience is required.
• A minimum of 2 years in a senior or supervisory role in a clinical environment is highly preferred.

Educational Requirements

• A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Neuropsychology, Neuroscience, Clinical Psychology, or equivalent is required.
• A postgraduate degree qualification with a specialty in Neuropsychology, Neurosciences, Clinical Psychology is required.
