Job Title:  Assistant Manager, Technical & Upgrading Projects

Job Description

Responsible to support managing technical advisory services and upgrading projects across managed assets, ensuring effective resolution of complex technical issues, regulatory and building compliance, delivery of value-adding upgrades, and deliver sustainable, value-driven technical solutions that enhance asset performance and lifecycle outcomes. The TUP assistant manager will also support the manager in the technical integration of sustainability initiatives in line with organisational standards and objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for supporting the manager on the effective management of TUP Dept. This includes in the department to meet KPIs, objectives and targets.
  2. Act as the technical consultant for major, complex, or recurring unresolved technical issues as the technical expert for the company to support operations and projects. Ensure technical solutions are effective, practical and commercially feasible.
  3.  Provide technical advisory and feasibility input for upgrading, refurbishment and asset enhancement projects.
  4. Review and propose optimised technical designs, specifications and engineering solutions.
  5. Oversee compliance with applicable regulatory, statutory and authority requirements.
  6. Conduct technical investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  7. Provide specialist technical expertise, tools and diagnostics to support facilities operations and projects. 
  8. Support project planning, budgeting and risk management from a technical perspective.
  9. Support on verification for assurance on consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure technical quality and compliance.
  10. Monitor sustainability initiatives in collaboration with the Sustainability Project Team and Champions.
  11. Integrate energy efficiency, decarbonisation, and ESG considerations into technical solutions.
  12. Support continuous improvement in technical standards, asset performance and lifecycle outcomes.
  13. Perform any additional duties assigned by the line supervisor.

Education

Level of Qualification: Bachelors Degree

Major: Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Building Services, Facilities Engineering) or other related fields.

 

Area of Experience

  • Facilities management, Building Services or Asset Operations - 5 years or above
  • Technical advisory or Specialist Engineering Roles - 2 years or above
  • Upgrading, Refurbishment or Asset Enhancement Projects - 2 years or above
  • Regulatory Compliance, Authority Liaison and audits - 2 years or above 
  • Sustainability, Energy Efficiency or ESG related initiatives - 2 years or above
