Unified Smart Metering Services Sdn Bhd (“USMS”) is a Government-linked company responsible for the provision of smart metering services including the procurement and supply of smart meters and the design, build, management, operation and maintenance of the Unified Smart Metering Platform. We are looking for a highly qualified professional to fill the Assistant Finance Manager position.
Position Summary
The Assistant Manager of Finance supports the Finance Manager in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting, reporting, and financial analysis, while providing guidance to the subordinates and contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to day-to-day accounting functions including cash verification, reconciliations, and month/year-end closing of accounts.
- Prepare accurate monthly management reports and regulatory reporting for audited financial statements.
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, monitor expenses against budgets, and recommend realignments where necessary.
- Analyse financial data and provide insights to improve performance and cost efficiency.
- Manage accounts payable and ensure timely, accurate processing.
- Support the development and enforcement of financial policies and internal controls.
- Act as the key point of contact for financial inquiries and operational issues.
- Guide and support the finance team to ensure alignment with performance standards.
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and industry best practices.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with utility providers, vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to achieving company revenue targets and drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth teamwork across the organisation.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related financial qualification; or
- Higher National Diploma /Advanced Diploma in related financial qualification with 6 years relevant working experience; or
- National Diploma in related financial qualification with 12 years relevant working experience.
Key Competencies and Skills Required
- Possess soft skills such as analytical thinking, teamwork, problem solving, decision making and excellent communication skills.
- Possess technical skills such as Financial Reporting & Analysis, Accounting Operations, Budgeting and Forecasting.
- Excellent experience and technical knowledge in digital infrastructure.
- Good proficiency in English language, both spoken and written; Proficiency in Malay language is an advantage.
