Job Title: Assistant Officer

Job Description
1. Reporting to the Head of Asset Management / Technical Officer.
2. Supervise Clerk.
3. Preparation of preliminary estimates, tender/quotation document consisting of specifications and bill of quantity.
4. Assess tenders and quotations from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate with the contractors. Prepare proposal and seek approval when required.
5. Supervise the inspection of works under contract regularly.
6. Assess and verify work progress on site for payment. Assist to expedite payment.
7. Attend ad-hoc issues from occupants of properties and security guards located at different properties and to provide recommendation for further action.
8. Conduct assessment on plants and equipment and preparing report on works for properties.
9. Assist with regular reporting on project status and for Asset Management meetin
10. Assess variation order, extension of time or S.O instruction when required.
11. Escalate problems with recommendation for further action, at the earliest opportunity to the Asset Manager.
12. Report all equipment failures and malfunctions before contacting outside contractors.
13. Assist in assessing performance of contractors, at least once a year.
14. Assist in budget planning and control for contracts.
15. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment manuals and technical documentation.
16. Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirement
- Citizen of Brunei Darussalam.
- Have valid driver license and own transportation.
- Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work exeprience.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office application, such as Words, Excel, Powerpoint etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
