Job Description
The Technical Support is responsible for ensuring all the required tools and parts are available and preventive maintenance with the internal and external stakeholder are scheduled accordingly. This role should also demonstrate team work cross-functionally within UNN in order to achieve requirement and team efficiency. This role will also support the overall process and plan of the DCO (Power and Data Centres) including all required reporting and budget and expenses monitoring.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Coordinates the implementation of all preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Ensures timely and accurate reporting of maintenance and incidents
- Monitors team adherence to project schedules, operational KPIs, and standard processes
- Assists in planning and monitoring the annual CAPEX and OPEX budgets in coordination with the VP Data Centre Operations
- Works with the cost modelling team to review and optimize budget utilization regularly
- Verifies and monitors payment processes, purchase requisitions, and invoice checks to ensure alignment with UNN Finance procedures
- Manages and tracks administrative aspects, including assets, tools, vehicles, and equipment
- Supports the preparation and review of technical documentation for tenders and quotations
- Analyzes operational performance and provides reports with preventive actions and recommendations
- Ensures incident reports, particularly for Power and Data Centre events, are completed promptly and accurately
- Follows up on issues and dependencies with relevant leads
- Ensures preventive and corrective maintenance reports are submitted to the Documentation, Process, and Project Control unit
- Handles the movement of assets (requested or returned) by internal requestors
- Ensures that all vehicles, tools, equipment, and assets are properly maintained and tracked
- Supports performance tracking to ensure departmental KPIs are met and exceeded where possible
- Provide general support for project-related and day-to-day operational activities as required by the DCO team
Competencies
- Power generator/Cooling system problems investigation and ability to repair
- SRAN Mobile Power Rectifier system
- Service performance reporting and KPIs
- NetEco Power Monitoring System
- Good communications with vendors and customers (internal & external)
- CAPEX and OPEX tracking
- Knowledge of administrative procedures - Document management, organise meeting etc.
Area and Years of Experience
- Office administration, ideally in a technical environment with 5 years of experience
- Technical Roles in Network Power system, Cooling system and Backup generator with 5 years of experience
- Project Management (Generator and Cooling system) with 2 years of experience
Education
Higher National Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or relevant areas and equivalent working experience.
