Job Description

To manage and maintain UNN Network Infrastructure, which includes handling various hardware such as Layer 2 and 3 Switches, Access Points, Routers, DCIT Firewall, Network Appliances, as well as end point machines (end user). This also requires them to have the understanding from various technology provider not limited to Cisco, Arista, and Huawei. Their task is also inclusive of managing and troubleshooting issues on the network for end users, systems and appliances. They are responsible for ensuring network planning, network design and deployment to ensure the end users are able to connect to UNN Network and to their respective systems.

Responsibilites and Tasks

• Performs Network Planning, Design, Deployment and Configurations, and Troubleshooting proficiency and monitors the Network uptime, network utilization, and maintains the network availability for end users
• Understands network IP Address specification, where they are able to define which network based on IP Address Information and understand how the network is established based on the architecture design (understanding of AD, DNS and DHCP purposes)
• Understands and creates/builds/designs any form of network scripting, including but not limited to Cisco, Arista and Huawei based script
• Focuses on Service Delivery, System Uptime and Operational Excellence and to apply ITIL best practices managing operational duties, documentation, and collaboration, and to apply ISO27001 Standard, Deloitte Audit, as well as CIS20 as security baseline to UNN backend system
• Works closely with several teams and Vendor in order to fully understand business requirement and deliver based on stakeholder’s expectations
• Conducts Appliances License Management by monitoring the Network appliances License Utilization, ensures that UNN are in compliance to appliance License and manages the License Contract duration
• Constantly communicates with team members in different department / organization / entity for gathering information on understanding the needs of their Network deployment and have the capability to do an Incident report, prepare SOP, provide recommendation and present to stakeholders on any findings or improvement opportunity
• Prepares documents mainly on any deployment to ensure that any changes/updates done on the Network deployment are recorded accordingly and properly inventorizes all deployment in compliance with ITIL framework on performing any tasks
• Provides knowledge transfer on any findings, may it be on Network Layer or even OS Layer on report based such as email, documentation and/or presentation as this is to promote the team communication and to support each team member's growth
• Performs project management to help on project deployment and project delivery aided with the knowledge and skills from Project Development Framework and Agile Project Management
• Performs any network problem resolution support on-site and off-site including off-hours coverage based on the required service level
• Manages all operational tasks especially when under pressure, due to the critical nature of UNN systems and have minimal downtime SLA
• Mediates solutions for customer needs such as SalesCo
• Manages Firewall access for Enterprise IT

Area and Years of Experience

• Administration proficiency to manage up to Layer 3 Equipments with 3 years of experience
• Understanding of network architecture and have proficiency on troubleshooting network layer problem based on 7 OSI Layers with 3 years of experience
• Project management and licensing with 2 years of experience

Education

Higher National Diploma in Network Engineering or relevant areas and equivalent working experience.
