Job Description

To manage and maintain UNN System Infrastructure, which includes Microsoft Windows Servers, Linux based Operating system not limited to RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu and Rocky Linux. This includes on providing a secured architecture with respective OS feature/tools proficiency. Operating system is a platform where all application resides on, in which, the team would need to be proficient enough on each operating system architecture. This may include on configuring dual network interface, setting up an infrastructure dedicated to enterprise needs, basic understanding of networking for server to server communication and adequate knowledge on system architectural design and management. The individual must have the ability to troubleshoot and isolate the issue from Application to Operating System or even Network Layer problem.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Performs end-to-end server Provisioning - inclusive of OS installation, monitoring system onboarding, license registration/subscription, user access onboarding, asset management and monitors the system health status
  • Understands and creates/builds/designs any form of scripting, including but limited to Linux (e.g. Phyton or Bash scripting), Windows based batch scripting and other cron or scheduler based scripts.
  • Focuses on Service Delivery, System Uptime and Operational Excellence and to apply ITIL best practices managing operational duties, documentation, and collaboration, and to apply ISO27001 Standard, Deloitte Audit as well as CIS20 as security baseline to UNN backend system
  • Works closely with several teams and Vendor in order to fully understand business requirement and deliver based on stakeholder’s expectations
  • Conducts Operating System License Management by monitoring the Operating System License Utilization and manages the License Contract duration
  • Manages IaaS Licensing for both Linux and Windows based license subscription
  • Constantly communicates with team members in different department / organization / entity for gathering information on understanding the needs of their system deployment and having the capability to do an Incident report, prepare SOP, provide recommendation and present to stakeholders on any findings or improvement opportunity
  • Prepares documents mainly on any deployment to ensure that any changes/updates done on the system are recorded accordingly, properly inventorizes all deployment and complies with ITIL framework on performing any tasks
  • Provides knowledge transfer on any findings may it be on Operating System, Network Layer or even Application Layer on report based such as email, documentation and/or presentation as this is to promote the team communication and to support each team member's growth
  • Performs project management to help on project deployment and project delivery aided with the knowledge and skills from Project Development Framework and Agile Project Management
  • Performs any operating system related problem resolution support on-site and off-site including off-hours coverage based on the required service level
  • Manages all operational task especially when under pressure, due to the critical nature of UNN system and have minimal downtime SLA
  • Mediates solutions for customer needs such as SalesCo

Area and Years of Experience

  • Administration of Operating System on both Linux and Windows based system and System Architecture and Concepts with 4 years of experience
  • Understanding of 7 OSI Layers, with the proficiency on troubleshooting and root caused analysis methodology with 4 years of experience
  • Project management and licensing with 3 years of experience

Education

Higher National Diploma in Computer Information System or relevant areas and equivalent working experience.
