Job Summary

The HSE Coordinator supports the day-to-day implementation of Health, Safety, Environment and Security activities across BELTS. The role assists with workplace inspections, HSE documentation, training coordination, incident reporting, emergency preparedness and security monitoring to help maintain a safe and secure working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing and monitoring HSE policies, procedures and requirements across BELTS premises.
  • Carry out routine workplace inspections using approved checklists and report identified hazards, unsafe conditions or non-compliance to the supervisor.
  • Maintain HSE records and registers, including inspection findings, incident reports, training records, permits, certifications and corrective actions.
  • Assist in reporting and investigating accidents, incidents and near-misses, including gathering information and following up on assigned actions.
  • Coordinate HSE inductions, toolbox talks, awareness activities, emergency drills and related training arrangements.
  • Monitor the validity and servicing status of HSE equipment, permits and certifications, including fire extinguishers, first aid kits and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in monitoring contractor compliance with site HSE requirements, including Permit to Work documentation and project kick-off arrangements.
  • Compile HSE information and statistics for periodic reporting to the HSE Manager and Management.
  • Monitor security service delivery and door access matters across BELTS premises, maintain the relevant records and report any issue to the supervisor.
  • Perform other HSE and security-related duties assigned by the HSE Manager that are appropriate to the position.

Skills and Job Requirements

  • At least one year of relevant working experience in HSE, security, compliance or a related area is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of workplace safety and health practices, inspections, hazard reporting and incident reporting.
  • Basic understanding of security operations, including access control and security service monitoring.
  • Able to maintain accurate HSE records, registers and supporting documents.
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Able to follow established procedures and work effectively with staff, contractors and service providers.
  • Able to travel between BELTS premises and work in office, warehouse, workshop and outdoor environments when required.
  • Willing to attend outside normal working hours in the event of an incident, alarm activation or emergency.
  • Responsible, observant and safety-conscious

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum HNTEC or Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Management or a related field.
  • At least one year of relevant working experience in HSE, security, compliance or a related area is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of workplace safety and health requirements in Brunei Darussalam.
  • Relevant HSE training or certification is an advantage.
