Job Description
Responsible to head two (2) departments, namely, Legal & Compliance Department (LCD) and Information Technology Department (ITD). The role is to champion corporate strategic initiatives and part of the management team, as well as responsible for overseeing the entire business support of the said departments' portfolio. In addition, the position will also manage the effective delivery and management of Corporate Communications, Debt Management, and Internal Assurance.
Roles & Responsibilities
1) Provide leadership and ensure efficient management of staff and resources in the Division.
2) Ensure Legal & Compliance Department runs smoothly in its day-to-day operations.
3) Provide high quality legal advice and services, such as, but not limited to:
- Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies and procedures and Corporate Governance of the Company.
- Customise constitution, shareholders agreement and based on the stakeholders' requirements.
- Review, negotiate and provide legal advice to management on contracts, tender, and other legal related matters such as, but not limited to, corporate/commercial, employment, property licensing and intellectual property matters.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulation within the concerned jurisdictions and protect the interest of the Company.
- Risk & Audit Committee management - identify legal risks and take appropriate actions.
- Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training, and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to staff.
- Review, amend and advise management on legal implications on internal policies and procedures.
- Provide generalist legal advice to range of internal Heads of Division, Managers, Management and Board of Directors.
4) Review progress of outstanding litigation and/or debt management (DMT) and liaise with the court (Official Receiver) and manage external lawyers accordingly.
5) Resolve Potential and actual dispute and provide legal support for crisis management.
6) Supporting:
- Tender Secretary - coordinate tender processes, ensure compliance with procedures, maintain documentation, support evaluation and governance, and play a key role in the streamlining of the Tender and Procurement function.
- Company Secretary - to provide company secretariat support, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, maintaining corporate records, and facilitating effective Board and committee governance.
7) Oversee the Information Technology Department (ITD) and lead the organisation’s digital transformation, ensuring alignment of IT initiatives with business objectives:
- Ensure SLA is met (e.g., uptime of systems and minimising disruption, cybersecurity risk).
- Integrate IT Department as part of Company's Digital Transformation to drive improvements of overall IT and IS.
- Be a co-driver with Strategic Management Department (STR) to develop a Digital Transformation Roadmap.
- Implement new approach of IT Business Partner (BP) to drive and ensure full utilisation of Generative AI across departments, including identifying use cases, enabling adoption, and aligning solutions with business objectives.
- Ensure all new or enhanced systems are technically implemented and integrated according to approved timelines, with post-implementation support, achievement of at least [80–90%] user adoption within [3–6] months, and resolution of critical integration issues within agreed SLAs.
- Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness for new equipment acquisition, repairs, maintenance, certifications, and related matters.
8) Manage the Company's internal and external communications with stakeholders.
9) Conduct training and provide coaching to staff as and when required.
10) Perform any additional duties assigned by the line supervisor.

Preferred Professional Certification: Bar Qualification
