Job Summary

The Head of MRO Department is accountable for the overall leadership, planning, and performance of four key units: Vehicle Maintenance, Electromechanical Maintenance, Simulation Maintenance, and Store Support. This role ensures the delivery of timely, high-quality, and cost-effective maintenance and repair services that support BELTS’ operational readiness and client commitments. The position requires strong technical oversight, resource management, and cross-functional coordination to meet service expectations.

 

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities, not limited to: (Job scope, Purpose and contacts) 

  • Lead and coordinate daily operations across the four units under the MRO department.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are properly scheduled, resourced, and completed within agreed timelines.
  • Oversee asset readiness and availability across fleets, equipment, and systems.
  • Provide technical direction for preventive and corrective maintenance across mechanical, electrical, simulation, and logistics systems.
  • Review and validate complex diagnostic issues or faults escalated from unit heads.
  • Support implementation of maintenance standards, safety procedures, and quality control systems.
  • Monitor KPIs such as asset uptime, response time, repair turnaround, and technical fault recurrence.
  • Regularly audit and verify documentation, inspection records, and maintenance logs.
  • Plan and monitor departmental budget, including tools, spare parts, and outsourcing costs.
  • Lead and mentor unit heads and senior technicians across the MRO department.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Project Teams, Training) to align maintenance schedules and technical support.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, OEMs, and contractors for specialized repairs or technical assistance.
  • Ensure unit collaboration and cross-support during joint operations, mobilizations, or critical programs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in maintenance operations, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within a technical or defense-related environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in vehicle systems, electromechanical systems, or simulation-based training equipment.
  • Proven track record managing cross-functional technical teams and complex MRO operations.
  • Proficient in maintenance management systems (e.g., CMMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and inventory management tools.
