We are looking for a proactive and organized individual to join our DST InnoLab team as an Industry Coordinator. In this role, you will be the custodian of our "Problem Statement Repository"—a strategic engine that fuels our startup development and R&D initiatives. You will act as a bridge between the real-world challenges faced by industry/society and the innovators who can solve them, ensuring that every problem statement is captured, structured, and actionable.

  • Professional Communication: Advanced skills in summarizing complex information into clear, persuasive briefs and reports.

  • Project Coordination: Practical experience in managing workflows, timelines, and cross-functional deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will actively contribute to the innovation ecosystem by:

  • Repository Management: Maintaining a structured, searchable database of real-world problem statements sourced from industry, government, and the public.

  • Insight Synthesis: Engage with stakeholders to capture raw challenges and translate them into clear, actionable "opportunity areas" for startups and researchers.

  • Partnership Coordination: Facilitate applied R&D collaborations by managing communication and documentation between startups, researchers, and industry partners.

  • Monitoring & Reporting: Track trends in ecosystem demand and repository usage, producing periodic reports that guide programme design and decision-making.

  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that the problem statements you validate are directly integrated into our innovation programmes and support mechanisms.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and comfortable working with databases or structured documentation tools.

  • Able to spot trends and gaps in qualitative data.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple inputs simultaneously.

  • A genuine interest in understanding systemic challenges and real-world problems.

  • Willingness to learn and operate across different professional contexts.

Relevant Experiences & Qualifications

 

  • Applicable as an i-Ready candidate from Pusat Pekerjaan Brunei (JobCentre Brunei).
  • Minimum HND in Innovation, Business, Engineering, IT, Data, Social Sciences, or related fields.
