Job Title:  Investment Associate

Job Summary

 

As part of the Investment Team, to assist in supervising and monitoring the implementation of building blocks for the improvement of the GLCs. These include corporate governance procedures, financial discipline, prompt reporting and strategic planning. The job also requires project management skills, conducting analysis, writing reports and preparing presentations in various forms.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

 

The job focus includes, but is not limited to:

 

  • Attending meetings, writing reports, working on plans and at times work with other parties such as GLCs, external advisors and/or stakeholders.

 

  • Assists in ensuring the implementation of building blocks in the GLCs such as institutionalisation of any new procedures, policies and internal control, financial reporting, having proper management teams in GLCs and effective execution of approved business plans.

 

  • Reach a deep understanding of the condition and opportunities of assigned GLCs and ensure GLC management can reach their potential.

 

  • Conducts financial analysis, identifies issues, formulates hypotheses and conducts research on how to maximise the performance of GLCs in DA; analysis will be used to conceive new investment strategies and divestment decisions.

 

  • Help in developing a clear vision for DA for the direction for GLCs and their industries.

 

  • Be financially literate and aware of the history and development of businesses globally so that the team can lead DA to global standards.

 

  • Responsible for complying and exemplifying information security requirements defined by DA in its policies and prcedures. 

 

  • Perform other related duties as and when required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business discipline (Investment, Finance, Economics, Accounting Management, and Operations Research). 

 

  • Master's Degree or a relevant full/partial qualification such as CFA or ACCA would be an advantage.

 

  • A minimum 2 - 3 years' relevant working experience in business or finance related fields are required.
