Job Title:  Manager, Projects

Job Description

Manages the operational performance of the Projects function and translates the Head of Projects direction into effective portfolio delivery. Oversees assigned projects, resources and management controls, ensuring consistent performance across scope, time, cost, quality, safety, risk, procurement, contracts and stakeholder requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Manage assigned project portfolios for the entire project lifecycle and ensure delivery plans align with approved objectives, priorities and governance requirements.
2. Review & determine project scopes, conduct site measurements and cost estimation, feasibility inputs, budgets, schedules, procurement/tender documents, evaluations and contract recommendations.
3. Monitor portfolio performance against scope, schedule, budget, quality, HSE and risk requirements and direct corrective action where necessary.
4. Manage Assistant Managers and other assigned team members, set priorities, allocate resources and monitor team performance and capability.
5. Resolve significant operational, technical, commercial, quality and stakeholder issues escalated by team members
6. Ensure appropriate project controls, change control, progress claim review, reporting and record management are implemented.
7. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, suppliers and internal stakeholders on significant project matters and to achieve best results based on construction methodologies and procedures.
8. Provide consolidated project performance updates, risks and recommendations to the Head of Projects.
9. Drive improvements in project delivery processes, quality management, cost effectiveness and operational efficiency.
10. Perform any additional duties assigned by the line supervisor

Education

Level of Qualification: Bachelor's Degree

Major: Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or other related fields.

Preferred Professional Certification: Relevant professional/project/quality certification (e.g. PMP, Professional engineering/QS membership, QA/QC, or quality audit certification) 

Area of Experience

• Project Management and Delivery - 8 years or above
• Building Construction, Refurbishment and/or Development Projects - 5 years or above
• Project Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management - 5 years or above
