Job Title:  NOC Shift Engineer

Job Description

Responsible for end-to-end monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of all UNN network and services, with a focus on the issues impacting customer experience. Additionally supports new technology and services deployment, new equipment acceptance and configuration management.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To provide 24/7 surveillance of Fixed, Mobile and IT Network Services.        
  • Detection and isolation of services, network elements or systems faults across multiple technologies.        
  • Monitoring Network/Services equipment for outages and performance issues.        
  • Daily operations tasks for production systems E.g. system and job monitoring, job priority management, error logging and tracking, first level support and problem resolution and daily operational reporting.        
  • Notifies management as required for escalation and notification support.        
  • Solve and act on all network and customer complaints (SalesCo and Enterprise customers) related incidents during shift
  • To identify, develop systems analysis techniques to correct hardware, software and system operational problem and procedures. Proactively identify issues, and consults with 2nd line support engineers, service/domain experts.        
  • Logs and documents all issues and updates stakeholders as required.        
  • Validates alarm status for change management for pre and post maintenance activities (CR)        
  • International Business - Reconcile and escalate of alarms to L2.        
  • Network and Solution documentation update reflecting implemented changes, Operations and Maintenance procedures update. 

Education

Higher National Technical Education/ Degree is an advantage
