Job Description

The technician is responsible for performing hands-on tasks related to the operation, maintenance, and repair of Power, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and Fire Safety systems. Under the supervision of the Team Lead, the technician will ensure the systems are running efficiently, troubleshoot and resolve issues, perform regular inspections, and assist in system upgrades or installations. Technicians will adhere to safety protocols and quality standards while providing reliable service and support to the operations team.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Assists with installation, setup, and upgrading of Power, HVAC, and Fire Safety systems as needed
  • Performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and service tasks on Power, HVAC, and Fire Safety systems to ensure their proper functioning and compliance with safety standards
  • Reports daily activities, maintenance logs, and any issues encountered to the Team Lead and ensures that all maintenance and repair work is documented accurately
  • Assists in managing tools, parts, and equipment inventory, ensuring that supplies are available and in good condition for all tasks
  • Ensures adherence to all safety protocols and procedures while performing tasks and to use appropriate protective equipment and ensure a safe working environment., HSE standards and UNN policies
  • Maintains a high quality of documentation
  • Ensures that all related systems are highly integrated, relevant alarms are centrally collected and displayed in UNN's NOC in real-time
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots system faults or malfunctions, performs necessary repairs, and assists in system restorations to ensure minimal downtime
  • Provides support during emergency situations and system failures, assisting the team in restoring normal operations quickly
  • Participates in training sessions and skill development to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, industry best practices, and safety standards
  • Works closely with other technicians, engineers, and the team lead to ensure smooth coordination of tasks and effective problem resolution

Competencies

  • Power generator/Cooling system problems investigation and ability to repair
  • SRAN Mobile Power Rectifier system
  • Service performance reporting and KPIs
  • NetEco Power Monitoring System
  • Skills in equipment preventive maintenance
  • Skills in support and execution of planning related tasks (fault root cause analyses, inspections, tests)
  • Knowledge of test equipment and data collection

Area and Years of Experience

  • Field Power Operations and Maintenance with 5 years of experience
  • Technical Roles in Network Power system, Cooling system and Backup generator with 5 years of experience
  • Project Management (Generator and Cooling system) with 3 years of experience

Education

Higher National Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or relevant areas and equivalent working experience.
