Job Description
The Project Manager holds the end-to-end accountability for the planning, execution, monitoring, control, and formal closure of projects supporting UNN's national ICT infrastructure delivery and strategic corporate KPIs across the entire UNN organisation. The incumbent leads and governs cross-functional, multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring delivery outcomes are achieved within approved scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risks, and ensures projects are delivered efficiently and in compliance with UNN organisational standards. The incumbent also directs and optimises project resources across the entire UNN organisation and supports the Head of PMO in executing and governing project streams within wider programs, ensuring UNN program benefits realisation through project delivery and outcomes.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Leads cross-functional teams to deliver projects aligned organisational and programme objectives
- Manages projects end-to-end including scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies and implementation
- Oversees 3-5 high-impacts, organisation-wide projects with a combined portfolio value of approximately B$2 million to B$15 million or more annually
- Ensures project outcomes contributes to programme objectives and expected benefits
- Manages project governance, change requests and compliance with Project Management Framework and PMO standards
- Acts as the key link between project teams, sponsors and stakeholders to maintain alignment and commitment
- Provides regular project updates and reports to key stakeholders including SMT and the Board when required
- Conducts site visits to verify project progress, milestones and quality against approved plans
- Manages departmental/project budgets and ensure appropriate financial control throughout the project lifecyle
- Leads and manages project team members while ensuring compliance with company policies and requirements
- Mentors and coaches junior colleagues through guidance, feedback and knowledge sharing
- Participates in tender committees and support commercial, technical and delivery evaluations
- Ensures adherence to UNN Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times, demonstrating proactive approach by promptly intervening in the event of any observed unsafe actions/behaviours
Competencies
- Project Management (Ideally certified in PMI-PMP, PRINCE or similar)
- Project Management Support Tools
- Business and Operations Processes such as complaints/query/dispute resolution
- Expert knowledge of Business Processes
- Highly experienced in managing multi-million BN$ projects
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and time management
- Written and spoken English
Area and Years of Experience
- Managing multiple projects and large-scale programmes with 5 years of experience
- Working in an IT/Technical environment, ideally in the Telco Industry with 3 years of hands-on experience
- Business Acumen with 3 years of experience
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Technology Management or relevant areas and equivalent working experience.
