Job Summary
The Senior IT Administrator (Network & Information Security) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s network and security infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and protection against cyber threats. This role involves configuring and deploying network hardware and software, monitoring system performance, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks. The position also oversees security controls, conducts system backups, and ensures disaster recovery readiness. Working closely with other IT team members, the Senior IT Administrator supports infrastructure projects, documents processes, and recommends improvements by staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Job Description
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer with minimum 3 years working experience.
• Higher National Diploma in Computer Science majoring in network security discipline with minimum 8 years working experience.
• Candidate with a strong information security background is required
• Candidates that possess professional certification in CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Fortinet Certified Professional, CEH or any relevant certification are an advantage.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN).
• Configure and install network hardware and software (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
• Maintain network security through access controls, firewalls, and monitoring tools.
• Monitor network traffic to protect against cyber risk and threats
• Gather and analyze information about potential threats to improve security measures
• Maintain company network and security systems by administering and provide resolutions to achieve optimal network system’s high availability and performance.
• Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery operations.
• Collaborate with other IT staff to support infrastructure projects and upgrades.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and changes.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements
