Job Title:  Senior Investment Associate

Job Summary

As part of the Investment team, to manage the performance of investment professionals in the Investment department and be accountable for the results and turnaround of GLCs under portfolio holdings. Additionally, to manage a portfolio of company under a specific department. Quantify the competitive performance of the GLC’s operations and market, and evaluate the potential impact of changes. Develops papers and prepares materials to provide information and investment ideas to the function.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

The job focus includes, but is not limited to:

 

  • Measures the attractiveness of GLC’s business under portfolio holdings by conducting simple and preliminary analysis on portfolio holdings; presents findings and valuations of portfolio holdings to seniors and GLCs Board of Directors.

 

  • Identifies issues, formulates hypotheses and conducts research on how to maximize the performance of GLCs in DA; presents findings to seniors for their consideration.

 

  • Presents market research and analysis of GLCs’ performances to the seniors; analysis will be used to conceive new investment strategies and divestment decisions.

 

  • Develops reports for senior management and proposes adjustments to optimise portfolios based on changes in market and economic environment.

 

  • Develops and maintains working investment plans for the respective industry portfolio.

 

  • Exercise some management authority; sets employee performance objectives, conducts performance reviews and recommends pay actions for investment professionals.

 

  • Serve as mentor to the team by including them on projects, conducting on-the-job training and answering any queries they may have.

 

  • Oversee and ensure the implementation of building blocks in the GLCs such as financial reporting, having proper management teams in GLCs and business plans.

 

  • Responsible for complying and exemplifying information security requirements defined by DA in its policies and procedures.

 

  • Perform other related duties as and when required

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Minimum 5 years working experience in relevant field

 

  • A Bachelor's Degree or Master in business discipline (Investment, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Management and Operations Research)

 

  • Have a relevant full/ partial professional qualification would be an advantage.
