Job Description
Responsible for running and maintaining all the transmission systems across all locations, carries out preventive and reactive maintenance, root cause analysis and operational improvement plans, optimization activities, performance monitoring and projects implementation in accordance with department KPI's, provides Level 2 support to NOC and Field Operations to solve complex network problems.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Maintains and administers Transmission Devices but not limited to transport Network, initiate new provision and fault resolution process in place in order to align and achieve the KPI and performs disaster recovery operations and data backups when required
- Performs and maintains updates to documentation related to Fixed and Mobile Network configuration, network mapping, process, service records, risk register, number of hardware device and software
- Performs load configuration and test network to ensure smooth and reliable operation and performs research on Network products, services, protocols that are up to standards and aligns with the new technologies of Fixed and Mobile Networks
- Performs network engineering on deployment of LANs, WANs, voice and wireless network, including routers, hubs, switches and other hardwares and softwares from multiple vendors
- Supports and executes new Projects and Upgrades (technically and logistically) related to the migration, integration and expansion of core within Fixed and Mobile transport
- Provisions, tests and commissions new services as directed by Network Planning and ensures quality is maintained by end-to-end testing with other Operations technical colleagues for both Fixed and Mobile Networks
- Supports NOC for mission critical services, undertakes second line diagnosis and investigation of technical issues and ensures fast restoration in case of incidents and faults / resolution (within the SLA), identifies root cause and actions plans to avoid re-occurrence on both Fixed and Mobile Networks
- Creates and updates connectivity of Network change through Network Change Management DataBase (CMDB) on ServiceDesk, high-level diagrams (HLD) and low-level diagrams (LLD) for Fixed and Mobile customer
- Prepares and presents reports on network performance statistic, proposals, task progress, CR et cetera in both Fixed and Mobile Networks
- Performs and plans for network administration, usage, disaster recovery and preventive maintenance applicable to Fixed and Mobile Networks

Area and Years of Experience
- Handling DWDM and EOSDH Troubleshooting and Configuration with 5 years of experience
- DWDM and EOSDH and related to L2 Transport with 3 years of experience
- Technical Roles in Network Operations, Telecom Equipment and IT with 3 years of experience
- Multiple Vendor Transmission Equipment with 3 years of experience
Education
National Diploma or Higher National Technical Education Certificate in Telecommunication, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or relevant areas and equivalent working experience.
