Job Title: IT Assistant
Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam
Position Purpose
The IT Assistant - System Administrator provides technical support across McDonald’s Brunei operations, including store and office environments. This role is responsible for maintaining internal systems, supporting end-users, managing IT assets, and ensuring the secure, effective operation of all IT infrastructure and services.
Principal Accountabilities
In addition to following McDonald’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
System Administrator
• Monitor, maintain, and administer internal networks, servers, and system performance.
• Maintain access control policies including user access rights and privileges.
• Assist in updating and maintaining websites, and digital platforms as required.
Support and Maintenance
• Implement and maintain system backup, antivirus, and security protocols.
• Regularly test and update systems to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, restaurants system, and other technology equipment.
• Support remote work functions including VPN access, remote desktops, and collaboration tools.
• Provide frontline IT support for hardware, software, networking, and system-related issues.
Documentation and Reporting
• Procure, track, and manage IT asset inventory including laptops, desktops, peripherals, and licenses.
• Select and purchase new and replacement hardware and software in line with operational needs.
Other Responsibilities: -
• Assist in any IT-related projects and tasks, such as systems upgrades, migration, troubleshooting, or any new implementations.
• Involves in Company’s events whenever necessary.
• Carry out duties and responsibilities required by the Management and Head of IT.
Minimum Requirements:
• Must possess a Diploma or HND in Computer Science, Computing, Information Systems, Business Computing or any related field.
• Thorough knowledge of software development, system integration, basic networking, system troubleshooting and IT support. Familiarity with accounting system or software is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and documentation skills.
• Analytical mindset, good problem-solving skills and able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
