MARKETING LEAD

 

 

Position purpose:

 

This role works closely with the Management Team of Makan Ceria Sdn. Bhd. as well as key functions within the organization to organize and coordinate the development and implementation of the Marketing plan in line with business strategy. The Marketing Lead will play a key role in driving business performance through building and executing long-term brand affinity and brand trust platforms. This role is critical towards ensuring the Company’s continuous growth aligned to the Company’s purpose to Feed and Foster Communities

Strategic Alignment to deliver Business & Brand Performance

  • Work closely with Management to deliver continuous strong sales performance
  • Lead and manage the team to build long-term brand affinity and brand trust platforms inclusive of menu and sales channel
  • Ensures Marketing and Menu plans are aligned with McDonald’s strategic framework (Accelerating the Arches)
  • Manage Impact Plan for the market to build and grow brand trust amongst stakeholders
  • Align both Marketing and Impact plans with business strategy and growth priorities
  • Develop and execute McDonald’s Brunei Marketing calendar in line with ABU and Global McDonald’s strategic direction as well as other markets’ marketing calendar to enable synergies

 

Communication & Relationship Management

  • Develop, manage and sustain relationships with external stakeholders, both locally and globally, inclusive of creative agencies, media agencies, suppliers and vendors related to marketing collaterals
  • Sustain networks with other market’s CMOs to enable continuous marketing support
  • Collaborate with other CMOs to identify benchmarks, synergies and best practices and seek to localize implementation relevant to the market
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver the annual Marketing plan
  • Engage with organisations to maximise impact of CSR initiatives
  • Organise and coordinate marketing and menu planning and ensure follow-through on execution
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and develop potential untapped opportunities
  • Ensure brand guidelines are adhered to for any marketing collaterals, collaboration, promotions, advertisement
  • Conduct relevant trainings to employees regarding McDonald’s branding guidelines
  • Represent the market in meetings, conferences, trainings to share market campaigns, success stories, learnings and future plans

 

Creative & Media Effectiveness

  • Lead and manage the planning of advertisement platforms to maximise brand visibility and optimize returns
  • Collaborate with other organizations to maximise brand reach and visibility through advertisement, corporate activities, and other marketing collaterals
  • Propose and monitor budgeting of media spend across all channels to ensure positive returns on marketing spend
  • Maintains high-level of creativity to drive brand affinity in customers and non-customers

 

Administration of Key Marketing Platforms

  • Menu Management
    • Manage the menu development and ensure alignment and execution of marketing campaign for menu and promotion launch
    • Prepare proposal of new menu creation as well as coordinating the team on all menu team activities (Supply Chain, Marketing & Digital, IT, Strategy & Insights, and Operation)
    • To continue leveraging on other markets monthly promotions, by getting product information on the new menu and promotions.
    • Conduct research and analysis on localization opportunities for menu
  • Social Media
    • Manage all McDonald’s Brunei’s social media channel
    • Plan and execute strategies to grow customer engagement and drive brand loyalty
  • Digital/ McDonald’s App
    • Lead and manage the McDonald’s App interface
    • Planning and executing the digital offers aligned with Marketing calendar to maximise sales channel
    • Monitoring the key metric related to the McDonald’s App
  • Develop monthly and weekly report on marketing promotion performance to monitor Return on Marketing Spend/ Return on Investments
  • Provide regular communication to management and restaurants regarding promotion performance
  • Keep the marketing database up-to-date, importing new data, updating records and performing necessary cross checks. For example, vouchers database, newspaper adverts database, Per Store Per Day (PSPD), Feedback platform, etc.

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Oversee the performance and professional development of the Marketing team, providing mentorship, guidance, and training to ensure the team’s effectiveness and alignment with the Company’s strategic goals.
  • Prepare and present regular updates on the Department’s activities and marketing initiatives during monthly management meetings and Board meetings.
  • Carry out duties and responsibilities required by the General Manager and/ or Deputy General Manager that may arise in response to business needs or strategic goals.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration/ Management, Research and/or any related discplines
  • 5 years of professional experience, with previous experience in Marketing and its related functions is a must
  • Customer-focused strategic thinker and passionate in prioritizing customer experience
  • Creative, passionate and self-motivated with the ability to establish and meet targets
  • Strong prioritization, problem solving and project management skills (from conception to completion).
  • Good knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel to help with analysis, reporting and presentations.
  • Effective leadership and presentation skills, with an ability to influence high risk decisions
  • Strong business accumen and solutions-oriented
  • Demonstrate ability to work with and inspire a broad range of people to work towards common goals
  • Operates effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - ability to communicate and engage to various levels of leadership, customers, and partners 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build sound relationships with internal and external partners
