Job Title:  Officer - Quality Assurance (Engineering & Maintenance)

Job Description

  1. Carry out assigned Quality Assurance (QA) audits of aircraft, flight and ground operations, line stations, suppliers and company sections and departments, including corrective/preventative action oversight and guidance as required to ensure timely and robust closure of audit findings and the completion of audit reports which include an executive summary of the audit, highlighting the positive as well as any negative aspects and details of findings.
  2. Carry out specific projects as directed by the SQA or MQA and reporting back on the results. 
  3. Discuss the results of QA audits with the appropriate head of section, department or organisation concerned and making recommendations as appropriate for improvements.
  4. Investigation of the airworthiness aspects of new and used aircraft plus preparation of the necessary documentation for the introduction of the aircraft on to the Brunei Aircraft Register. 
  5. Carry out QA surveillance of company sections as per the QA Surveillance Plan. 
  6. Carry out Event Investigations (EI) of occurrences or incidents as assigned, particularly when involving Human Factor aspects, and the subsequent raising of associated reports and recommendations, and any appropriate follow-up action.
  7. Liaison with all engineering and operational sections on matters affecting airworthiness and aircraft operations.
  8. Prepare and carry out assessment of RB or third party aircraft/component/process certifying personnel and make recommendations based on the result for the grant/extension of RB Company maintenance authorisations 
  9. Sample review of aircraft Technical Log book contents and aircraft work packs, to ensure compliance with airworthiness and company requirements. 
  10. Assessment, control and amendment of forms, notices and manuals, e.g. QA section procedures, expositions, EQ Forms, Quality Notices, as assigned by the SQA. 
  11. Investigation and recommendation of Workshop Capability applications for inclusion within the RBA Approved Components/Process/Manufacturing List, and maintaining the respective Capability List 
  12. Prepare and deliver presentations on quality matters when required.

Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Officer (QAO) is responsible to the Quality Assurance Controller (QAC). He/she will perform assigned daily responsibilities related to quality assurance activities. Within the scope of their expertise and qualifications, the QAO will ensure effective completion of tasks. And when required and as assigned, in the absence of the QAC or he cannot be contacted, will deputise for him in all matters.

Education

Have related qualifications - Relevant Engineering Degree (Aeronautical).

CAAI Airworthiness

SMS

IOSA

BAR 8 sub part M / part 145

MEDA and/or REDA training,

Fuel Auditing

NDT training for auditor

IATA DGR & LAR/IATA AHM or Ground Services (GS) requirements as appropriate.
