Direct Reports : Restaurant General Managers (all restaurants); Operations Consultants 

 

Job Summary

The Operations Lead is accountable for the overall performance of all McDonald's restaurants in Brunei, driving sales, profitability, and operational excellence while building strong leaders across the business. The Operations Lead will act as the key link between Restaurant General Managers and the Senior Leadership Team, overseeing both day-to-day operations and long-term growth.

Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. People & Leadership

1.1. Build a positive, high-performing culture across all restaurants through engagement, coaching, and recognition. 
1.2. Develop restaurant leadership teams and ensure consistent performance management. 
1.3. Identify and grow high-potential talent, building strong leadership pipelines. 
1.4. Lead succession planning to ensure leadership coverage across the network. 


2.  Operational Excellence & Brand Standards 

2.1. Ensure consistent adherence to local and McDonald's standards, food safety, and regulations. 
2.2. Proactively identify and manage operational, compliance, and reputational risks. 
2.3. Maintain a strong on-the-ground presence through regular restaurant visits. 
2.4. Conduct operational reviews and drive improvement plans. 
2.5. Oversee local store marketing, promotions, and community initiatives. 


3. Business Performance 

3.1. Partner with senior leadership on the annual business plan and restaurant targets. 
3.2. Drive sales, profitability, and growth across the network. 
3.3. Use performance data to identify opportunities and resolve challenges. 
3.4. Manage labour costs and overall restaurant operating budgets. 
3.5. Provide input on capital investments, new openings, and remodels.

 

4. Compliance & Stakeholder Management

4.1. Ensure all restaurants meet operational, food safety, Halal, and health & safety standards.
4.2. Partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain and other relevant stakeholders.
4.3. Lead the rollout of regional and global business initiatives across the market.
