Job Title:  Technician - Ground Support Equipment Electrical Mechanics

Job Summary

Work within established procedures and support the business process to be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems on Ground Support Equipment (GSE) used in airport operations.

Job Description

  1. Involve in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems of GSE including baggage tractor, belt loaders, towing tractors, ground power units, air conditioning units, medalift and passenger step.
  2. With specific instructions that permit to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and specialized diagnostic equipment.
  3. With specific instructions that permit to repair and replace electrical components including motors, generators, alternators, starters, wiring harnesses, control panels and battery systems.
  4. Perform mechanical repairs including engine diagnostics, transmission work, brake system maintenance, steering system repairs and suspension work.
  5. Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems including pumps, cylinders, valves and hoses.
  6. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
  7. Perform electrical system upgrades and modifications as required.
  8. Complete required inspection checklists and documentation.
  9. Participate in regulatory audits and inspecations as needed.
  10. Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment requirements and hazardous material handling.
  11. Conduct safety inspections of electrical systems and components.
  12. Report safety hazards, participate in safety meetings and training programs.
  13. Ensure work meets quality standards and specifications.

Training

Technical and electrical related.

Education

  • National Technical Education Certificate (NTec) in Automobile Technology, Light Vehicle Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, and/or
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in eletrical maintenance and repair.
  • Experience with heavy equipment, mobile equipment or GSE preferred.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
