Job Title:  Vice President - Information Technology

Job Description

• Lead the team, be accountable and oversea IT planning, management, and operations to support worldwide, 24/7 business activities.
• Provide knowledge transfer, training and mentorship to IT staff.
• Review and develop key business information systems and processes to ensure that they are aligned with the company's business plans and that they continually evolve to support the company expansion and growth.
• Manage and prioritize IT projects and ensure their successful delivery.
• Work closely with system stakeholders to act as an IT expert to provide support and advice on achieving business objectives and competitive advantage through IT.
• Ensure robust IT governance and security is in place for efficient and highly reliable utilization of information resources.
• Develop the IT team to meet the changing needs of users, groups and offices; new projects and technologies; and varying staff strengths.
• Support the management of financial aspects of the department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review and forecasting.
• Develop standard operating procedures and best practices, service level agreements, including providing written protocols and guidance to IT staff and to end-users.
• Provide metrics and reports to the senior leadership team on a regular basis and all users of telecommunication and information technology services and systems, as required.
• Provides insights to IT strategy; specifically, work with the senior leadership team to develop strategies and plans to enhance IT services, improve user effectiveness, and foster innovation.

Job Summary

• The VP of Information Technology is responsible for planning, organising, and delivering all IT-related functions. This includes managing IT operations to meet customer requirements and service levels, maintaining existing applications, and developing new technology solutions.
• The position works closely with the leadership team, operations, and support staff to assess and address user and business needs. Key areas of responsibility include planning, implementing, delivering, and evaluating information systems programmes and services, including server administration, backup systems, computer operations, desktop support, information centre services, business analysis, systems support, application programming, and related technology systems administration.
• The VP of IT is expected to understand the organisation’s mission, goals, and vision, and to identify, develop, source, and implement technology solutions that support them.
• Consult with the business and support their IT requirements

Education

Degree in Computing, Information Technology, or relevant discipline and experience and/or 

Minimum 10-12  years of progressive Information Technology experience.

Minimum 7 years in senior technology leadership roles, such as Head of IT, Director IT, VP IT, CIO, CTO, or equivalent.

• Proven track record in developing and executing enterprise-wide technology strategies and digital transformation programmes.
• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale and mission-critical technology environments.
• Experience in cybersecurity governance, enterprise applications, infrastructure management, cloud technologies, and IT service management.
• Experience managing significant technology budgets and strategic technology investments.
• Proven experience presenting technology strategies, business cases, and risk matters to Executive Management and Board-level stakeholders.
• Experience within the aviation, airline, transportation, travel, or other highly regulated industries is strongly preferred.
• Experience implementing or managing airline operational systems and digital customer platforms will be a significant advantage.
