Job Title: Clinical Psychologist

Job Summary
Provide assistance to patients to reduce distress and improve the psychological wellbeing of patients who may have a variety of mental or physical health conditions.
Principles Duties and Responsibilities

- Assess patients' needs, abilities or behavior using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests, interviews and direct observation of their behaviour.
- Devise, monitor and adapt appropriate treatment, programmes, including therapy, counselling or advice, in collaboration with colleagues.
- Help patients define goals and plan actions to achieve personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment.
- Monitor client progress trhough regular meetinfs or sessions.
- Working within a multi-disciplinary team (including doctors, nurses, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and speech language therapist) to help patient achieve their treatment goals.
- Provide consultation to other professions, encouraging a psychological approach in their work.
- Counsel and support carers.
Professional Requirements
- A minimum of two (2) years of clinical training and experience is required.
- Clinical-related work experience prior to commencing postgraduate training (for example, by working as an assistant psychologist in a clinical psychology department) is desirable.
Educational Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in Psychology is required.
- A postgraduate degree in Psychology is required.
- Training in Clinical Psychology or formal qualification from an entity recognized by the Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC) of Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Specialised Skills/Knowledge/Attribute Requirement
- Experience with assessment and treatment of patients with neurological disorders.
