Job Title: Dental Assistant

Job Summary
- Assist Dentist in the delivry of primary dental care services by providing chairside assistance, preparing patients and treatment areas, and maintaining dental equiptment and instruments.
- Responsible for ensuring the sterilisation and readiness of dental supplies and supporting patients with oral health and post-treatment care instructions.
Principles Duties and Responsibilities
- Organise and prepare treatment areas to maintain a clean and efficient operating field.
- Prepare trays, instruments, and materials required for dental procedures.
- Assist Dentists during dental procedures by passing instruments and materials as needed.
- Support the provision of primary dental care services under the direction of the Dentists.
- Perform dental radiographic procedures, including intraoral radiographs and Orthopantomogram (OPG) imaging, in accordance with approved clinical protocols and radiation safety requirements.
- Sterilise and disinfect instruments, equipment, and clinical areas in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Provide patients with instructions on post-operative care and general oral health practices.
Professional Requirements
A minimum of three (3) years of working experience in relevant healthcare settings is preferred.
Educational Requirements
- A minimum of Ntec in Dental Assisting or equivalent from any related field from an institute recognised by the Government of His Majesty is preferred
- Candidates who have equivalent qualification through education and/or experience may be considered for the assignment to this position.
Specialised Skills/Knowledge/Attribute Requirement
- Previously experience in dental assisting.
- Proficiency in dental assisting terminology, procedures, and chairside support techniques.
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable of and adherence to infection prevention and control measures, including sterilisation procedures and established clinical protocols.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, dentists, and members of the dental team.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
