Job Title:  Paramedic (offshore)

Job Summary

• Respond to medical emergencies, stabilize patients, and provide first aid and pre-hospital care.
• Provide safe, timely and professional emergency medical care and occupational health support in a remote offshore environment.
• Maintain medical equipment and supplies and coordinate medevac or medical evacuation when required.

Principles Duties and Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, accidents, injuries and occupational incidents.
• Perform rapid assessment, triage and prioritization of patients.
• Provide emergency treatment, stabilization, basic and advanced life support within scope of practice.
• Coordinate with onshore primary doctor, medevac team and other relevant agencies.
• Assess patients requiring urgent evacuation or transfer and initiate medical evacuation procedures.
• Manage minor illnesses and injuries, provide first aid, treatment and follow-up.
• Maintain emergency medical equipment, medical supplies and medications.
• Participate in offshore emergency response exercises and drills.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and provide structured clinical handovers.

Professional Requirements

• Minimum five (5) years recent experience as Paramedic in Hospital of direct patient or previous offshore oil & gas experience is preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Registered Staff Nurse with a minimum of three (3) of paramedic experience may be considered.
• Currently licensed to practice as a Paramedic in country of origin.
• Registrable with the Brunei Allied Health Professions (AHP) Council.
• Satisfactory medical certificate is required

Educational Requirements

• A Degree/Diploma in Paramedic or Nursing from an institute/university recognized by the Allied Health Professions (AHP) Council or Nursing Board of Brunei is required.
• Candidates with equivalent qualifications through education and/or experience may be considered.

Specialised Skills/Knowledge/Attribute Requirement

• Valid Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS).
• Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS).
• Current first aid certification.
• Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET UK) with EBS & Travel Safely by Boat – OPITO Approved training is mandatory.
• Fluent in oral and written English.
• Fluency in oral and written Malay and/or Chinese is desirable.
