Job Summary
- Responsible for providing safe, ethical, and evidence-based aesthetic medical treatments and procedures in accordance with recognized professional standards. The role requires clinical competency in aesthetic medical practice, relevant supervised training, and adherence to medical regulations and patient safety protocols.
Principles Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients seeking aesthetic medical treatments and procedures.
- Perform aesthetic medical procedures competently and safely within the practitioner’s scope of practice.
- Ensure all treatments comply with established clinical guidelines, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate patient records, treatment documentation, and informed consent processes.
- Participate in continuous professional development and relevant aesthetic medical training programs.
- Monitor patient outcomes and manage complications or adverse events appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Uphold patient confidentiality, professionalism, and safety at all times.
Educational Requirements
Post MBBS
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
- Completion of three (3) years of relevant training in aesthetic medical practice under supervision/attachment.
- Possession of Certificate of Training (COT) or equivalent in aesthetic medical practice.
Post MD Dermatology
- MD Dermatology or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification.
- Completion of recognized practical training courses conducted by bona fide professional bodies specializing in aesthetic medical practice.
Professional Requirements
- Full medical registration with the relevant Medical Council or regulatory authority.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a Medical Officer or equivalent after full registration.
- Relevant certification in aesthetic medical practice training.
- Demonstrated competency in aesthetic medical procedures and patient management.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, patient safety, and ethical medical practice.
- Ability to maintain continuing medical education and professional development requirements.
Specialised Skills/Knowledge/Attribute Requirement
- Knowledge and competency in aesthetic medical procedures, treatments, and patient management.
- Strong understanding of facial anatomy, skin physiology, and aesthetic treatment principles.
- Ability to identify, manage, and respond appropriately to treatment complications and adverse reactions.
- Familiarity with clinical safety standards, infection control practices, and ethical guidelines in aesthetic medicine.
- Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and patient confidentiality.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and record-keeping abilities.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with advancements in aesthetic medical practice.
