Job Summary
Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the effective management of anesthesia services. This role involves preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, assisting anesthesiologists during procedures, and monitoring patients' vital signs. The Anesthesia Technician is also responsible for maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room and ensuring compliance with safety protocols
Principles Duties and Responsibilities
- Patient Care and Clinical Responsibilities:
- Prepare and calibrate anesthesia delivery machines and monitors.
- Ensure all anesthesia equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with anesthesia equipment.
- Assistance During Procedures
- Assist anesthesiologists in the application and measurement of anesthetic gases and medications.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse rate, respiration rate, and temperature.
- Provide support during emergency situations and assist in patient resuscitation if necessary.
- Patient Care
- Prepare patients for anesthesia by cleaning and checking their vitals.
- Assist in the transport of patients to and from the operating room.
- Monitor patients' recovery from anesthesia and report any abnormalities to the anesthesiologist.
- Inventory Management
- Maintain an adequate inventory of anesthesia supplies and medications.
- Restock operating rooms with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking of inventory levels.
Professional Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an anesthesia technician in a clinical setting.
- Experience in managing anesthesia equipment and monitoring patients during surgical procedures.
- Prior exposure to emergency situations and patient resuscitation is beneficial.
Educational Requirements
Possess a Diploma in Anesthesia Technology or related field
