Job Title:  Assistant Engineer (Transportation)

Position Summary

· To safely operate heavy machinery which includes mobile crane, towmaster, trailer, cherry picker and forklift to perform

work with authorized certification

· Receive direct information from Engineers, Supervisors and Head of Workshop

· Observe Occupational Health and Safety.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

· Drive and operate heavy machineries under MMS which includes mobile crane, towmaster, trailer, cherry picker and forklift across all RBN vessels within the Naval Base.

· Provide transportation services within Naval Base as directed by Ship Managers or supervisors

· Regular inspections on heavy machineries when not in use to ensure they are safe to use and to inform supervisor or Head of Workshop should necessary repairs are required.

· Perform pre-operation and post-operation checklists on all heavy machineries under MMS.

· Responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure personnel and heavy machineries’ safety.

· Perform, but not limited to, rigging and banksman as secondary duties  within Shipyard Services when required withincertification

Requirements

· Proven ability to work with minimum supervision and capable of multitasking.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Willing to work outside of working hours if required.

· Able to work in various environments such as confined space, heat and height

· Observe Occupational Health and Safety.

Education/Qualification 

· Minimum of National Diploma or equivalent

· Possess valid Driving License Class 5

· Possess valid Mobile Crane Operator Certificate

· Possess valid Forklift Operator License

· Must be of Brunei citizen or permanent resident of Brunei Darussalam
