Muara Maritime Services Sdn Bhd (“MMS”) is a joint venture company responsible for providing maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MRO) to Royal Brunei Navy (“RBN”) vessels and dockyard infrastructure. We are looking for highly motivated and suitably qualified Bruneian professionals to fill the following positions:

Job Description

Apply engineering knowledge and methodologies to design and to analyze problems, develop technical solutions and define engineering scope of work for electronics systems. The Electronics Engineer will be responsible for managing assigned engineering tasks and deliverables involving upgrades and modifications to vessels of the Royal Brunei Navy. This role requires proficiency in CAD applications, system analysis, and documentation management to ensure the successful execution of engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Utilize engineering principles to perform investigation and analysis and to develop technical solutions and proposals
  • Perform engineering studies, calculations and evaluations to support design
  • Define scope of work, goals and deliverables that support the proposed engineering solution
  • Develop test plans to assess system and record measurements and to evaluate function and performance.
  •  Prepare, review, maintain and organize drawings and technical documentation within the Engineering folder structure
  • Collaborate with project managers, operations, and maintenance teams by providing technical input, recommendations, and design clarifications.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Minimum Higher National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in naval domain or a comparable industry.
  • Experience in marine electronics such navigation and communication system or similar field.
  • Experience with installation, maintenance, repair or upgrade of electronics systems.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical integration, cabling, and interface with ship systems (power, alarms, automation) 
  • Exposure to commissioning, testing, and acceptance processes (FAT, HAT, SAT) 
  • Familiarity with marine industry standards and regulations (e.g., IMO, SOLAS, class requirements such as DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s Register)

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics 
  • Strong proficiency in technical English, written and spoken 
  • Effective team player with strong problem-solving and communications skills 
  • Adaptable, solution focused and highly motivated 
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools 
  • Must be citizen or permanent resident of Brunei Darussalam
