Job Title:  Engineer (Shipyard Services)

Job Summary

The Engineer (Shipyard Services) is responsible for the efficient maintenance of mechanical systems within the Shiplift operations. This role involves hands-on maintenance as well as supervision of teams to ensure quality work and optimal efficiency by means of utilizing the right techniques and appropriate tools and equipment. The incumbent will also participate in activities such as trials, investigations, inspections, and system operation checks.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Lead and perform maintenance on mechanical systems of Shiplift, such as wire ropes, lower and upper sheave bearings, trestles, cradles, capstans, and Bogies.
• Schedule and manage preventive maintenance for Shiplift and their respective transfer systems, such as greasing wire ropes and lower and upper sheave bearings.
• Lead and conduct functionality tests on Hydraulic Power Pack motors, control systems of Shiplift, and Bogies.
• Perform System Operation Checks for Shiplift, either as a routine or before docking/undocking operations.
• Lead and operate Bogies and manage the movement of trestles or cradles during docking or undocking operations.
• Seek assistance from the Dockyard Coordinator to address any shortcomings that may affect the section's efficiency and propose solutions to any problems.
• Responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to ensure personnel safety.
• Perform additional duties within Shipyard Services when required, including but not limited to supporting electrical maintenance and handling mooring line maneuvering during the docking/undocking operations of RBN vessels.

Requirements:

• Citizen or Permanent Resident of Brunei Darussalam.

Education

• Minimum Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years' experience in related work field.
