Job Title:  Engineer Mechanical

Job Summary

The Engineer is accountable to the workshop manager through senior engineer for all level 3 and 4 (Level 1 & 2) maintenance work carried out by their section and for the standard and timely completion of designated work such as repair, testing and trials of all ships’ main engine, auxiliaries, propulsion equipment, and for producing accurate records of maintenance taking into account the health and safety of all personnel involved and the safety of the vessels Responsible for the management of its team member and for the supply and demand of spare parts.  

Job Description

• Lead a team and supervise his subordinate to do routine maintenance, job cards, base maintenance period, defect essential docking, afloat maintenance, 2 years refit and 4 years refit maintenance period.
• Responsible and to make sure that all tests are recorded.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance, fault finding, overhauling engines, auxiliaries and propulsion equipment.
• Assist in trial, investigation and inspection whenever required                            
• Attend opdef requirement as required by Head of workshop during weekdays or weekend.                                                                                       
• To contribute to the planning and responsibility for development on the job task execution and imparting knowledge to new mechanical staff.
• To oversee the mentoring and technical skill development.
• Ensure works progress and reports are maintained and updated.
• Assist in carrying out continuation and specialist training. Train subordinates on their job and responsibilities.
• Bring to the immediate attention of superiors of any circumstances which affect the safety of personnel and equipment and operational readiness of the RBAF unit.

Requirements

• Minimum qualification of Higher National Diploma in Mechanical.
• 3 to 5 years experience in Mechanical background and marine industry.
• Must be citizen or permanent resident of Brunei Darussalam.
