Job Summary

The Head of Commercial and Business Development oversees commercial operations for an amusement park and its properties will be responsible for supervising

all commercial initiatives, fostering revenue expansion, and improving the profitability of Jerudong Park Country Club Sdn Bhd functions and related assets. 

 

A crucial position in articulating and implementing the strategic vision for growth and expansion at Jerudong Park Country Club Sdn Bhd. This position analyses

innovative business opportunities, encompasses the formulation, advancement, and implementation of marketing, sales, to boost revenue streams and

partnership strategies to strengthen market presence.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute commercial strategies aligned with the park's vision and market trends to drive growth and improve guest experience.
  • Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with government bodies, tourism boards, and local businesses to foster collaboration and brand visibility.
  • Guest Experience: Oversee programs to enhance visitor satisfaction, ensure service quality, and leverage customer feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Revenue Generation: Innovate new revenue streams, manage pricing strategies, and drive sales across tickets, events, F&B, and merchandise. Monitor performance using KPIs and data-driven insights.
  • Market Research: Conduct industry and customer analysis to guide strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.
  • Project & Property Management: Lead cross-functional business development projects and oversee park-related property leasing and compliance.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, provide regular financial reports, and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Team Leadership: Guide a high-performing team with clear objectives, mentorship, and a focus on innovation and accountability.
  • Representation & Networking: Represent the park at industry events and stay updated on trends to maintain competitiveness and relevance.

Minimum Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field; MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial and/or business development, sales, or marketing role is required. Experience in the amusement park, hospitality or related entertainment industry will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated history of effectively creating and executing growth strategies that lead to revenue enhancement.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership abilities, including the capacity to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and proficient in data analysis tools and methodologies; demonstrates exceptional organisation and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; adept at fostering relationships across all organisational levels.
  • Knowledge of property management principles and practices is advantageous.
  • An enthusiasm for the leisure and entertainment sector, accompanied by an understanding of contemporary trends and innovations.
