Job Title: Human Resources Director

Job Summary
The HR Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the hospital’s human resources department, ensuring the effective delivery of HR services to support the hospital's mission and goals. Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO) or senior HR leadership, the HR Director oversees talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, HR policies, and compliance across the hospital. The HR Director is also involved in recruitment, training, and ensuring hospital-wide adherence to employment laws, HR best practices, and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, employee relations, and compensation.
- Implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with hospital regulations and legal requirements.
- Lead workforce planning efforts, ensuring proper staffing levels across all departments and specialties.
- Oversee employee relations activities, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and fostering positive workplace relationships.
- Ensure the hospital’s compensation and benefits programs are competitive and aligned with industry standards.
- Support leadership development programs and initiatives to enhance employee skills and career progression.
- Monitor and report on HR metrics to senior leadership, ensuring the hospital’s HR practices align with strategic objectives and operational needs.
Professional Requirements
Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in human resources, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role within a healthcare setting (hospital or similar healthcare environment). Proven success in managing HR operations in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Certifications: SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or other relevant HR certifications preferred. Certification in healthcare administration (e.g., MHA) is a plus.
Healthcare Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of healthcare labor laws, compliance regulations, and healthcare-specific HR challenges. Experience in managing HR functions in a hospital or clinical setting is essential.
Leadership Experience: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop HR staff. Experience leading change initiatives and improving HR processes.
Educational Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration (MBA), or Healthcare Administration (MHA) is preferred.
