Job Title:  Marketing Associate (Digital)

Location:

Under the direction of the Marketing Lead, the Marketing Associate (Digital) role is responsible for anticipating and executing marketing tasks and deliverables to implement digital strategies and meet promotion deadlines. The position provides hands-on exposure to McDonald’s digital operations spanning brand-led digital campaigns, mobile app activations, social media engagement, and analytics while nurturing expertise in digital marketing tools and customer insights. This role supports both internal and external stakeholders, sharpening strategy and execution skills while fostering cross-functional collaboration to drive timely, data-informed digital marketing initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Strategic Alignment to Business Goals
  • Manage and support in planning, executing and optimizing digital campaigns across channels (SEO, SEM, website, social media, email, mobile app), ensuring alignment with marketing calendar and brand standards
  • Ensure all digital content and campaigns adhere to McDonald’s brand guidelines and digital standards
  • Utilise analytical tools and relevant reporting platforms to monitor campaign and website performance, providing actionable insights aligned with KPIs
  • Support the design, segmentation, and analysis of email campaigns using ESP platforms, perform A/B tests, and report performance metrics
  • Conduct keyword research, support PPC campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads), perform A/B testing, and recommend bid and creative optimizations.
  1. Communication & Relationship Management
  • Collaborating with the cross-functional team (Marketing, Technology, Operations, Supply Chain and Strategy & Insights) towards execution of digital marketing campaigns
  • Coordinate with content, product, and creative teams to maintain digital assets and CMS updates
  • Manage local, regional and global creative and media vendors towards ensuring alignment with brand guidelines, campaign metrics and local context
  • Keep up to date with local regulatory requirements pertaining to marketing and partnering with local agencies to comply with regulations
  • Prepare promotional materials and communicate to restaurants accordingly.
  • Provide regular communication to management and restaurants regarding promotional performance.

 

  1. Creative & Media Effectiveness
  • Manage and provide support with the planning of advertising platforms to maximise brand visibility and optimize returns
  • Collaborate with other organizations to maximise brand reach and visibility through advertisement, corporate activities, and other marketing collaterals
  • Propose and monitor budgeting of media spend across all channels to ensure positive returns on marketing spend
  • Maintain high-level of creativity to drive brand affinity in customers and non-customers
  1. Administration of Key Marketing Platforms

 

  • Menu Management
    • Execution of marketing campaigns for menu and promotions within digital platforms
    • Conduct research and analysis on effectiveness of digital promotions

 

  • Social Media & Advertising
    • Manage all McDonald’s Brunei’s social media channel
    • Assist with social content scheduling, community monitoring, and paid social initiatives, while staying current on digital trends and platform updates.
    • Plan and execute strategies to grow customer engagement and drive brand loyalty
    • Ensure all digital marketing activities are vertically integrated with the brand’s marketing calendar to support unified messaging and drive consolidated growth across channel

 

  • Digital/ McDonald’s App
    • Support initiatives to educate and guide internal teams and customers on McDonald’s digital platforms (e.g., McDonald’s app, kiosks, website), helping to increase awareness and adoption.
    • Manage the McDonald’s App interface to drive engagement and usage
    • Planning and executing the digital offers aligned with Marketing calendar to maximise sales channel
    • Monitoring key digital metrics and performance to enhance campaign execution
    • Develop reports on digital promotion performance to monitor Return on Marketing Spend/ Return on Investments.
    • Continuously update the digital marketing database and records.

 

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, Business Administration, IT or a related field.
  • Additional certifications in Digital Marketing, Google Ads, SEO/SEM, or Social Media Marketing are highly desirable.

 

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in digital marketing, preferably in a fast-paced or consulting environment.
  • Proven experience with digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, HubSpot, Mailchimp).
  • Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress), CRM platforms, and basic HTML/CSS is a plus.
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting using Excel, Google Data Studio, or similar tools.

 

Skills & Knowledge:

  • SEO: Keyword research, on-page optimization, technical basics, and campaign monitoring.
  • SEM / PPC: Campaign setup, bidding, A/B testing on ad platforms.
  • Email Marketing: Campaign creation, segmentation, compliance, and analytics.
  • Analytics: Proficient with Google Analytics and data-driven insights.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with CMS (WordPress or similar), HTML/CSS basics, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Social & Content: Experience with scheduling tools and paid social strategies.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Curiosity and adaptability; a self-starter mindset.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project/time management.
