Events under Playground Department
Main Roles and Responsibilities
Event Officer roles at the Playground Department shall include, but not limited to the following:
- Support and implement office procedures for the Events Unit, ensuring smooth operations and compliance.
- Oversee and coordinate event planning and execution, including concerts, food festivals, CSR initiatives, and corporate functions.
- Maintain positive client relationships, respond to inquiries and tailor event packages to suit client needs.
- Manage external events for government bodies, embassies, corporate firms and royalties, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Prepare detailed event proposals, itineraries, invitations and event flow documents with necessary approvals.
- Handle venue reservations, vendor communications, logistics, risk management, and generate pre-and post-event reports.
- Serve as the focal point for government approvals, liaising with agencies such as MOHA, MPRT, KKBS, Police, BOMBA, JPKE and MOH.
- Assist Censor Board Officers from MOHA during event censorship procedures and coordinate with respective authorities.
- Conduct internal audits of event bookings, documentation, payments and reports to ensure compliance.
- Address and resolve client inquiries and complaints promptly to maintain a high standard of service.
- Carry out other assignments as directed by management.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Minimum HND in relevant field with 1-2 years of relevant experience in Marketing, Events Management, or as an Event Coordinator.
Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
- Proven experience in organizing and overseeing various events, including corporate/government events, weddings, competitions and performances.
- Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to liaise with high-ranking officials and corporate clients.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and event management tools is an advantage.
- Knowledge of government regulations and approval processes related to event Management.
