Muara Maritime Services Sdn Bhd (“MMS”) is a joint venture company responsible for providing maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MRO) to Royal Brunei Navy (“RBN”) vessels and dockyard infrastructure. We are looking for highly motivated and suitably qualified Bruneian professionals to fill the following positions:

Job Description

Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, and operational readiness of the fleet. This role involves coordinating with various departments, managing projects, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and delivering high-quality service.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES / DUTIES / WORK PERFORMED

  • Lead and manage ship repair and refurbishment projects from initiation to completion. Monitor project progress and ensure that milestones are met. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and other departments to ensure project objectives are achieved. Allocate and manage resources effectively to ensure project success. Monitor team performance and provide guidance to improve productivity and quality.
  • Work closely with the Planning Department to schedule dry-docking activities. Develop project plans and timelines.Collaborate with the Engineering, Technical Investigation, and Workshop teams to develop technical solutions for fleet maintenance and operational challenges.
  • Develop detailed work scopes and provide comprehensive technical information about job requirements. Manage all contractors assigned to projects or tasks. Evaluate vendor performance and ensure that contracts are fulfilled according to company standards.
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Technical Investigation, and Workshop teams to develop technical solutions for the fleet. Problem identification and analysis and solution development.
  • Overseeing the procurement of necessary spare parts and equipment for vessel maintenance. Identifying requirement by working with planning department and subject matter experts. Review and approve technical specifications and procurement documents for vessel repairs and upgrades.
  • Ensuring compliance with all international and local regulations such as SHENA (Safety, Health, and Environment National Authority) safety regulations and standards. Promote a safe work environment.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.Prepare and present reports to senior management, providing updates on fleet status and project progress. Coordinate  with other departments to ensure alignment of strategic objectives and operational goals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Mechanical Engineering Diploma or similar field
  • 4 years or more in the field
  • Preferable candidate with marine engineering background or project management.
  • Must be citizen or permanent resident of Brunei Darussalam
