Muara Maritime Services Sdn Bhd (“MMS”) is a joint venture company responsible for providing maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MRO) to Royal Brunei Navy (“RBN”) vessels and dockyard infrastructure. We are looking for highly motivated and suitably qualified Bruneian professionals to fill the following positions:

Job Summary

To maximize the Operational Capability, availability, and sustainability of all Royal Brunei Navy surface ships by coordinating both preventative and corrective maintenance, and Special Projects, ensuring that each task is completed safely, to the highest quality, within cost and within the given timeline.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES / DUTIES / WORK PERFORMED

1 Plan and coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking activities with technical teams and external contractors. Allocate and manage resources effectively to ensure project success. Monitor team performance and provide guidance to improve productivity and quality.

2 Work closely with the Planning Department to schedule routine maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking activities. This involves aligning vessel availability with operational needs, minimizing downtime, and ensuring that maintenance tasks are completed within the planned timeframes.

3 Develop detailed work scopes and provide comprehensive technical information about job requirements. Manage all contractors assigned to projects or tasking.

4 Collaborating with Engineering, Technical Investigation, and Workshop teams to develop technical solutions for the fleet. Problem identification and analysis and solution development.

5 Overseeing the procurement of necessary spare parts and equipment for vessel maintenance. Identifying requirement by working with planning department and subject matter experts.

6 Ensuring compliance with all international and local regulations such as SHENA (Safety, Health, and Environment National Authority) safety regulations and standards. Promote a safe work environment.

7 Conduct regular site inspections to ensure the quality of delivered services. Oversee quality control processes to ensure that project deliverables meet the required standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Mechanical Engineering Diploma or similar field
  • 3 years or more
  • Preferable candidate with marine engineering background, e.g. junior engineer officer
  • Must be citizen or permanent resident of Brunei Darussalam
