Job Title: Occupational Health Officer

Job Summary
- Manage the planning, coordination, and implementation of Occupational Health programmes and medical surveillance activities to promote employee health and wellbeing.
- Coordinate occupational health surveillance, medical screening, health information systems, contractor services, and stakeholder engagement while ensuring accurate documentation and effective service delivery.
- Support continious improvement of Occupational Health processes, records management, and workplace health initiatives in collaboration with Occupational Health Physicians, HSE, Industrial Hygienists, HR and relevant stakeholders.
Principles Duties and Responsibilities
- Occupational Health Surveillance and Medical Screening
- Support Occupational Health surveillance activities in accordance with established Occupational Health programmes and organizational requirements.
- Coordinate medical surveillance requirements and employee health monitoring activities to ensure timely implementation.
- Drug and Alcohol Screening Support
- Support the implementation of drug and alcohol screening activities in accordance with stakeholder requirements.
- Coordinate drug and alcohol screening processes, records and related documentation to ensure accurate administration and reporting.
- Occupational Health Programme and Stakeholder Coordination
- Support the implementation of Occupational Health programmes and workplace health inititatives.
- Coordinate Occupational Health activities with the Occupational Health Unit and relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Medical Emergency Response and Preparedness
- Coordinate and support assurance activities relating to Medical Emergency Response arrangements, offshore and remote-site medical facilities, equipment, medicines, emergency communications and applicable documentation.
- Maintain effective coordination with remote-site medics, site managers, HSE personnel and other operational stakeholders medical preparedness and Occupational Health matters.
- Occupational illness and health-related incident investigation
- Coordinate the notification, documentation, investigation and follow up of suspected occupational illness, workplace overexposure and other health-related incidents in collaboration with the OHP, IH, HSE and relevant stakeholders.
- Gather relevant medical information, maintain investigation records and tract recommendations and corrective actions related to occupationla illness.
Professional Requirements
- A minimum of three (3) years to five (5) years of relevant working experience in healthcare setting is required.
- Assistant Medical Review Officer certification is preferred.
- Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely Certification is preferred.
- National Examination Board on Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) is preferred.
Educational Requirements
A minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health, Health Sciences is required.
Specialised Skills/Knowledge/Attribute Requirement
- Good knowledge of Occupational Health surveillance programmes, employee health monitoring, drug and alcohol screening programmes, medical screening and fitness for work, and workplace health initiatives.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health information systems, health records management, and documentation practices.
- Ability to coordinate Occupational Health programmes, contract administration and service provider activites while ensuring compliance with establised organizational procedures.
