Job Title: Senior Clinical Charge Nurse

Job Summary
Senior Clinical Charge Nurse will be responsible to ensure the continuity of nursing services to be provided 24/7 within the hospital. They will also need to provide clinical leadership and supervision to the nursing, midwifery and paramedic team.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON) in the development and implementation of standard of care.
- Perform bi-annual and annual performance review by using Key Point Indicators (KPI) of Nursing Staff under Nursing Department.
- Facilitate staff deployment as instructed by DDON and/or DON.
- Oversee daily operation of ward / clinic / clinical services.
- Comprehend the responsibility of Clinical Charge Nurse based on JPMC emergency codes.
- Provides clinical leadership through direct provision of professional nursing care.
- Ensure the standards of practices are maintained, reviewed and continuously developed and staff deliver safe, effective, patient-centred, efficient, timely and equitable care within their scope of practice as part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Ensure the professional development of the nursing team which encompasses both Staff Nurses / Midwives and Hospital Aides.
- Co-ordinating the involvement of the multidisciplinary team within designated areas.
- Work within clinical specialties to ensure priorities for nursing practice are implemented and standards of nursing care are monitored.
- Work clinically for one session per week providing strong modelling and the opportunity to work directly with patients and staff to assess key issues in practice development.
- Participate in the Nursing Department senior nurse on call rota.
- Maintain current Continuous Professional Development (CPD) log sheet on an annual basis.
- Ensure safe and effective clinical practice.
- Enhance patients’ experience of care.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences / Health Sciences in Nursing is required.
- Masters’ Degree in Sciences / Health Sciences in Nursing is highly preferable.
Professional Requirements
- Minimum of eight (7) to ten (10) years of clinical experience as Clinical Charge Nurse (CCN) or Nursing Officer is required.
- Experience in Critical Care is highly preferred.
- Experience working in an administrative setting is highly advantageous.
