Job Title:  Health Safety Environment Senior Officer

HSE Senior Officer reports to Manager Safety

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Managing and supervising the Health Safety Environment (HSE) Section and ensuring that their responsibilities are carried out effectively and efficiently and that their tasks and assignments are within target and completed on time.

2. The implementation of Safety Management System including the development program to implement and enhance hazard identification, risk assessment and mitigation and establishment of the HSE Management system. 

3.Produce and maintain audit / inspection programme for HSE Section and ensuring that adequate safety oversight, risk assessment, and monitoring of findings arising from the inspection, audit, or assessment, is carried out by HSE Officers on work sites or operations considered at high risk.

4. Ensuring the Company’s preparedness for fire, medical/first aid, and other workplace emergencies compliance with the state requirements.

5. Ensuring the Company’s generated solid and hazardous waste conforms to the Company’s policy, government requirements and known waste management and environment protection best practices.

6. Ensuring that Environmental requirements are conformed to, including the completion of emissions tracking and reporting.

7.Developing and implementing safety training program by ensuring that appropriate safety training courses are conducted according to the approved course syllabus.

8. Maintaining knowledge of all applicable standards and administrative practices as they may relate to the local and international legislation to provide advice to the Company about airside safety, workplace safety and health, and environment. Ensuring the HSE manuals up to date with the Regualtory requirement. 

9. Managing the Occupational safety reports by ensuring that safety reports are handled and processed expeditiously while meeting the regulatory requirement.

10.  Acts as the Chairperson for the Health Safety Environment Committee meeting.

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or Safety, Health and Environment, or Diploma holder of an internationally recognized course in Aviation Safety Management Systems or Occupational Safety and Health, or Environment Management.
  • 5 years’ experience as a Safety Officer in a high risk or regulated industry such as Aviation, Oil & Gas.
  • Excellent command of English both in spoken and written.
  • Conversant with Brunei Darussalam Workplace Safety and Health Regulations, as well as RB’s HSE requirements;
  • Has completed Instructional Techniques or Train the Trainers course, and has proven experience in safety course instruction for 3 years or more
  • Preferred training in Risk Management and Accident Investigation Techniques and safety auditing.
  • Able to multi-task, resourceful and pro-active and work well under pressure.
  • Attentive to details and well organized.
