Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Power Plant Maintenance)

Job Summary
Responsible for leading the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical plant and equipment within the power generation environment to ensure optimum availability and reliability. Independently performs Level I and supports Level II maintenance of LM2500 Gas Turbines, carries out routine servicing, evaluates equipment condition, and recommends improvements. Supervises and mentors technicians and junior engineers, supports new installations and upgrades, ensures accurate maintenance documentation, and witnesses testing and commissioning activities. Serves as a Designated Safety Representative, responds to urgent equipment faults, and deputises for the Senior Engineer, Generation Maintenance when required.
Job Responsibilities
• Lead and perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of power generation mechanical plant and equipment
• Independently perform Level I and assist with Level II LM2500 Gas Turbine maintenance and overhaul activities
• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical equipment including gas turbines, diesel engines, pumps, fans, compressors, turboexpanders, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, heat exchangers, valves, and piping
• Evaluate equipment condition, identify defects, and recommend appropriate maintenance improvements
• Supervise and mentor technicians and junior engineers in maintenance activities and safe work practices
• Support new equipment installations, upgrades, testing, and commissioning activities
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in accordance with Company requirements
• Respond to urgent equipment faults and support safe and timely restoration of plant availability
• Act as Designated Safety Representative and ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements
Job Requirements
• Recognised Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification acceptable to the Company
• Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within a power generation environment
• Hands-on experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and overhauling power plant mechanical equipment
• Good knowledge of maintenance practices, criteria, and methodologies in a power generation environment
• Sound understanding of system operating procedures and safety requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to supervise, motivate, and develop team members
