Job Title:  Human Resources Associate

Location: 

The Empire Brunei, Brunei Darussalam

PURPOSE OF ROLE

To support the delivery of the Human Resources function, to maximise employee engagement and performance, and to support the delivery of all other HR functions

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

1. To support the building of positive engagement to aid understanding and motivation by   

  • Assist employees with HR enquiries accurately and escalate to resolve issues promptly
  • Engage with employees constructively and politely to provide support 
  • Assisting the delivery of employee events/ HR activities and recognition programme
  • Reporting concerns with the quality/ service of employee benefits, meals and facilities
  • Taking notes for meetings ie. SCC, Health & Safety
  • Support the coordination of annual employee survey and follow up 
  • Supporting those with compassionate circumstances


2. To support the delivery of performance, disciplinary and grievance across all levels through

  • Maintaining confidentiality and dignity of employees, including disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Providing support and guidance to staff on HR matters in line with Hotel policy
  • Preparing letters of concern and follow up correspondence, arranging signoff and filing
  • Assisting in resolving employee concerns and showing care and fairness
  • Witnessing interviews, cautions and warnings

 

3. Effectively undertake and support the Human Resources administration in 

  • Ensuring the accurate and up-to-date employee file, both electronic and physical  
  • Updating data and reporting on trends
  • Undertaking assignments as required ie. inspection of Horizon, the locker rooms and smoking areas

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

1. Education

  • HND or Degree in Human Resources Management (Essential) 
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Malay (Essential)
  • Capability and commitment to continue self-learning of Human Resources best practices


2. Experience

  • Past experience of luxury hotel operations
  • Adequate competency in administration processes


3. Physical requirements 

  • Physically capable of carrying out the duties of the post
  • Shift working to cover 7 days per week from 7am to 5pm on a roster basis including weekends and public holidays


4. Functional Knowledge
