Job Title:  Swimming Pool Officer

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

To monitor guest swimming pools and interact with guests as necessary to ensure swimming pool safety during opening hours

PURPOSE OF ROLE

1. To interact with guests in a professional and courteous manner and ensure pool safety by   

  • Diligently patrolling and observing activities of those in the water throughout the opening hours
  • Preventing guest from running, jumping or diving in any pools
  • Intervening when swimming is unsafe by communicating and enforcing the pool rules
  • Stopping guests from swimming out of the opening hours for the respective pool 
  • Ensuring that all children are accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times
  • Delivering of first aid and CPR if required
  • Escalating and reporting any concerns promptly to the Club Duty Manager  

 

2. Delivering guest service by

  • Greeting and assisting visitors and resident guests at the beaches and pools
  • Knowing about the Hotel services and politely assisting with all general guest enquiries
  • Engaging and making guests feel welcome as individuals

 

3. To undertake the following general duties, including 

  • Verifying that the AED, first aid and lifesaving equipment is in place and functioning properly
  • Escorting non-resident from the pool area and stopping inappropriate behaviour and photography 
  • Reporting maintenance issues promptly

 

4. To operate the Hotel boat safely for leisure and fishing trips, as required 

  • Complying fully with the boat licencing regulations and operating the boat safely in terms of navigation and speed 
  • Arranging for towels, refreshments and a first aid kit to be on board
  • Conducting safety checks in advance, prior to launching
  • Ensuring all passengers wear life jackets throughout any activities

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

1. Education

  • No formal education qualifications required
  • Good command of spoken English (Essential) 
  • Additional languages such as Chinese, Japanese or Korean or would be an advantage (Desirable)

 

2. Experience

  • Have experience in a similar position in a hotel or club is an advantage (Desirable)

 

3. Physical requirements 

  • Strong swimmer (Essential) 
  • Good eyesight
  • Physically fit to be able to carry out the duties of the post: carrying and lifting heavy items, walking and standing for long periods
  • Shifts covering between 6am to 12 midnight, over seven days per week, 365 days of the year including Public Holidays

 

4. Functional Knowledge

  • Lifesaving certification
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (Essential)​​​​​​​
  • Health and Safety and COSSH standards (Essential)
  • Marine Watercraft Operating License (Desirable)
