Job Title: Technician - Electrician
The Empire Brunei, Brunei Darussalam
PURPOSE OF ROLE
To provide 24/7 electrical maintenance of all electrical equipment / installations across the whole property, acting as first respondent and initiating the escalation of significant concerns to seniors and other specialists
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. To maintain electrical installations
- Ensuring all electrical operations are safe to operate, in compliance with international safety standards and the statutory regulations, including for appliances, earthing, ELCB, MCB, MCCB, MSB and RCD
- Routinely and systematically physically inspecting, testing and recording the above to maintain safety
- Inspecting and replacing safety components promptly as necessary to maintain them
- Identifying faults and implementing solutions promptly
- Reporting to the Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer - MEP and shutting down any unsafe installations immediately
- Arranging the replacement of lightbulbs, interior and exterior, and repair of any faulty fixtures, apply the safe working at height principles according to the agreed risk assessments and identified methods
2. To deliver proactive maintenance to improve the reliability and enhance the lifespan of all electrical equipment/installations
- Implementing detailed and consistent planned maintenance routines and tasks
- Maintaining efficient records of these and managing productivity
- Reporting on the lifespan and instigating replacement of repeatedly failing equipment
3. To deliver reactive maintenance system to maintain the business continuity
- Responding promptly to all electrical fault reports
- Maintaining an efficient system of communication and record
- Organising the equipment, labour and parts for efficient delivery
- Monitoring repetitive faults and identify solutions to reduce these
- Ensuring response times are meeting the LQA guest service standards and within the hour

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
1. Education
- BTec, Ntec or HND in an electrical discipline or equivalent qualification (Essential)
2. Experience
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in electrical work (Desirable)
3. Physical requirements
- Physically capable to undertake walking, standing, working outside, at height and in confined spaces
- Shifts covering 24/7, over seven days per week, 365 days of the year including Public Holidays
4. Functional Knowledge
- In depth knowledge of engineering processes and controls, to include: BMS controls, Electrical systems and safety, Fire and safety and Heating and air conditioning plant
- Additional skills and certifications: Fire fighting, First aid, HotSOS and working safetly at height
- Excellent understanding health and safety legislation
- Technical problem solving/ root cause analysis
