Job Title: Technician - HVAC
The Empire Brunei, Brunei Darussalam
PURPOSE OF ROLE
To maintain all HVAC plant installations, ensuring the consistent operation of the Hotel facilities and equipment, in accordance with, local regulations, the Hotel health and safety and fire policies and to meet guest expectations
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. To maintain all HVAC units and equipment, by
- Timely replacement of all filters and belts for AHU and FCUs and clearance of condense drains.
- Acid cleaning of all coils as required
- Setting chiller plant operation and temperatures as per Hotel standard
- Keeping the water level, water treatment, mechanical parts operation, and temperatures of the cooling towers accurately
- Assisting in replacing safety components promptly as necessary to maintain them
- Providing support to RBAGC and RBGCC as required
2. To deliver proactive maintenance to improve the reliability and enhance the lifespan of all HVAC equipment/ installations by
- Implementing detailed and consistent planned maintenance routines and tasks
- Maintaining efficient records of these and managing productivity
- Reporting on the lifespan and instigating replacement of repeatedly failing equipment
3. To deliver reactive maintenance system to maintain the business continuity through
- Responding promptly to all HVAC fault reports
- Maintaining an efficient system of communication and record
- Preparing the equipment, labour, and parts for efficient delivery
- Monitoring repetitive faults and identify solutions to reduce these.
- Ensuring response times are meet the LQA guest service standards and within the hour

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
1. Education
- BTec, Ntec or HND in mechanical, electrical or plumbing discipline or equivalent qualification (Essential)
2. Experience
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, preferably within the Hospitality sector (Desirable)
3. Physical requirements
- Physically capable to undertake walking, standing, working outside, at height and in confined spaces
- Shifts covering 24/7, over seven days per week, 365 days of the year including Public Holidays
4. Functional Knowledge
- In depth knowledge of engineering processes and controls, to include: BMS controls, Electrical systems and safety, Fire and safety and Heating and air conditioning plant
- Additional skills and certifications: Fire fighting, First aid, HotSOS and working safetly at height
- Excellent understanding health and safety legislation
- Technical problem solving/ root cause analysis
