Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Warehouse & Inventory supports the management of warehouse and inventory operations, ensuring efficient handling, accurate stock control, and compliance with cold chain, hygiene, and regulatory standards within a meat processing environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage (chilled/frozen), picking, and dispatch.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of meat products in accordance with temperature control, hygiene, and halal requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and support demand forecasting to prevent shortages, spoilage, or overstocking.
- Enforce FIFO/FEFO principles to ensure product freshness and minimise wastage.
- Oversee stocktakes and inventory audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Investigate stock discrepancies, spoilage, or damages and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate closely with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams for smooth operations.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of products (batch/lot tracking).
- Monitor warehouse layout and optimise storage utilisation, especially for cold storage areas.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP practices).
- Supervise and guide warehouse and inventory personnel to ensure productivity and discipline.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse processes and systems (ERP/WMS).
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain, logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in warehouse/inventory operations, preferably in FMCG, food processing, or cold chain environments.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, cold storage handling, and inventory control.
- Familiarity with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP) is an advantage.
- Good leadership and supervisory skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems.
